About Us
Skills21 is a nationally known leader in digital learning and recognized by the US Department of Education as an exemplary model for delivering STEM achievement.
Using a variety of learning technologies, Skills21 programs help increase rigor and relevance at school. Over a decade of research has demonstrated that Skills21 programs increase academic achievement, lead to improved 21st century skills, impact students' interest in STEM, and help students collaborate with peers from different backgrounds.
Matt Mervis
Director of Skills21 and AI Strategy at EdAdvance
mervis@edadvance.org Matt Mervis has led the Skills21 team since February 2014. In that time, he has focused primarily on expanding the number of schools and communities benefiting from Skills21 programs. During Matt’s tenure, Skills21 has developed several new online personalized project platforms while also implementing the team's innovative research agenda focused on immersive learning and artificial intelligence. Before joining EdAdvance, Matt worked as an entrepreneur, consultant, and edtech product developer for over 20 years. He has served in roles including classroom teacher, district technology director, professional development specialist, and innovation designer. Matt brings a unique set of skills and experience to help lead the Skills21 program.
Cam Audia
Executive Producer
audia@edadvance.org Cameron has worked in education, and media for the last 15+ years. Before joining Skills21 she received an MFA in Film Producing and spent a few years working as a Head Start teacher. Cameron is the Executive Producer of Skills21 and the JOY curriculum. Some of her duties on the team include; creating videos, managing Launchpad, and running accounts. When she isn't busy editing footage or making spreadsheets you can find her spending time with her husband and son singing, enjoying delicious meals, and hugging trees.
Dr. Liz Radday
Director of the Center for
Program Research and Evaluation
radday@edadvance.org Liz has worked in education for over 20 years and has been part of the Skills21 team leading NSF grants, research projects, and writing curriculum for personalized learning since 2017. She is passionate about Capstone and Personal Interest Projects, equity in education, and increasing student engagement. As the Director of School Services, Liz provides support to school districts on topics related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Prior to working at EdAdvance, Liz taught math and special education for many years. Liz lives in New Milford, CT with her husband, two daughters, a dog, and two cats. She loves all things fiber arts and is rarely seen without knitting needles!
Gary Robinson
Skills21 Coach
robinson@edadvance.org Gary has been a member of the Skills21 team since August 2018. As a Skills21 Coach, he supports students and teachers with the Skills21 project-based learning programs. Additionally, he serves as the team’s website manager, social media coordinator, and co-designer for promotional assets. Outside of Skills21, he coaches high school boys' basketball and tries to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible.
