AR Learning labs
Welcome to the Skills21 ARX Open Educational Resources (OER) web page. Through a National Science Foundation Grant, Skills21 has developed several hands-on Learning Labs which are anchored by Augmented Reality experiences.
During the 2022-2023 academic year, Skills21 will be conducting a research study using the Learning Labs on this website. Connecticut high school science teachers are encouraged to participate and will be eligible to receive a $500 stipend for their involvement. To learn more about this opportunity, please sign up below.
This work is funded by the National Science Foundation
as part of grant #1849773.
AR Learning Labs
DNA - TRANSCRIPTION & TRANSLATION
In this two-lesson learning lab, students get introduced to the process of DNA transcription and translation. They build on this knowledge by considering the potential benefits and pitfalls of modification of DNA through CRISPR.
HUMAN BODY SYSTEMS
Over the course of five lessons, students will visualize, model, and analyze the hierarchical organization and interacting nature
of human body systems.
CLIMATE IMPACTS
Students will act as geoscientists as they engage with a series of augmented reality powered ‘data dives, observe data models in action and determine how they help us understand regional impacts of climate change in the USA.
